Purposeful dialogue is at the heart of every coaching conversation. When we work together there are three “guiding principles” that form the basis of the coaching engagement:

• I work at identifying what you value in both work and life in general and try to understand what gaps might exist in terms of what you are doing now & where you want to be;
• We work diligently in helping you discover your natural strengths, talents or “unique contributions” that will help you propel forward and close these gaps;
• We also discover inherent limitations and strategize how you either over come them or minimize their impact.

How I Help Individuals

My experience has been that when individuals are using coaching services in either their personal or workplace lives, they tend to want coaching that will:

• Facilitate a successful transition to a new job or starting a new venture  
• Act as a sounding board for their new ideas, approaches or decisions
• Help develop their leadership capabilities
• Address a limitation that is preventing them from being effective
• Help refine a skill such as communication, conflict resolution, presentation etc.

How I Help Teams

My experience has been that when teams are using coaching services in the context of their workplace they tend to want coaching that will:

• Facilitate a more cohesive team
• Facilitate the inclusion of new members to an existing team
• Help build a business strategy
• Work more effectively with a client or customer
• Build more cohesive, partnership opportunities within their own organization
• Help them find a work/life balance

How It Works in an organizational context for a team:

The most popular program is a face to face one or two day session with the team that is organized prior to the session. Objectives and outcomes vary dramatically from team to team, so a series of phone calls with senior team members or leaders are usually required before hand to ascertain the outcomes of the day long sessions.This type of intervention is priced based on location of team, number of team members and length of coaching required.

How it Works in a personal context for an individual

The most popular program is a series of  five or ten phone calls that are organized in the following manner:

1. A call with the coachee (approx 1 hour) that is considered a free "Discovery" session orientation 
                     .
2. A series of either 5 or 10 calls to conduct the actual coaching sessions including a final call to discuss overall effectiveness and progress.

The average frequency of communication is one to two telephone sessions per month, but they can be more frequent. SYKPE with video capability has become an increasingly popular vehicle as well. Sessions usually run from 45 to 60 minutes in length, plus unlimited communication by e-mail. In some instances, face to face coaching sessions can be arranged as well.

What can I expect between coaching sessions?

All clients will be expected to do some “self-discovery” - you may be given a selection of assignments or readings depending on your specific goals. Any agreed upon assignments are expected to be completed and sent to me at least 24 hours before our next scheduled conversation.

What if I have to postpone a session?

Stuff happens- for both of us. If you cannot make an appointment, it can be rescheduled at no charge, as long as I receive 24 hour notice. I will do the same if some unforeseen circumstance arises from my end.
