After graduating from Brown University in 2003, I began my career as a high school Latin teacher. In my classroom, I began exploring ways to help students develop their Emotional and Social Intelligence as well as take a proactive role in their own learning. In 2004, I was introduced to life coaching and received my training and certification through the Coaches Training Institute. For the next four years, I developed methods to integrate my research and life coaching skills into my Latin classroom in order to pinpoint what helped teenagers develop personal leadership skills. To date, I have published four books, written as a columnist for Newsweek, and had hundreds of articles in national press as well as a handful of television interviews.
In the first ICF approved training program for life coaching for teens, I have trained more than fifty Academic Life Coaches located throughout the world from Los Angeles to Dubai. The mission of Academic Life Coaching is to give high school students the knowledge and skills to thrive and lead fulfilled, effective adult lives.
