Away
I was the ADHD guy that wasn’t supposed to graduate from high school. I had poor grades, a poor attitude towards teachers, and/or anybody that wanted me to do anything productive besides athletics. I didn’t need rules. I didn’t need help, and whoever tried to intervene was just plain annoying. I was irritated often. In short, I was difficult to be around.
Now…
Currently I’m the 30 something ADHD guy that wasn't supposed to graduate high school, except that now I have an Individualized M.A. [Master's Degree] with specific research in ADHD, Learning Disorders, and Executive Functioning, from Goddard College. During my graduate school studies I traveled back in time. I read every psycho/social evaluation ever done on me from ages 6-19. I poured over every Individualized Education Plan that had been created for me, and dissected my ADHD brain and my counterproductive behaviors in detail. I wanted to figure out what didn’t work, and why my brain didn't respond the way so many people hoped that it would.
I developed a serious personal advancement plan and stuck with it. When I finished my education and research I dedicated my life to helping those who needed it. Quite simply, I love what i do and it shows.
