I have created interpersonal skills courses customized for the needs of the organization’s culture, some in a computer-based training format. - In all cases, thanks to strong marketing, networking with my customers, and creating a fun and productive learning atmosphere, I have increased interest in training by as much as 50 – 60%
When a promotional practices challenge arose in one organization, I turned that situation into a learning & development opportunity by creating a leadership university, graduating more than 350 employees, of which more than 40% have been promoted into leadership roles!
Based on customer service best practices, I created a specialized course for a public sector organization, with a management reinforcement module, and a feedback survey instrument.
The results were increased quality of service to citizens by several departments, and the course has been required for all new hires since its inception.
When the need arose for a mayor and senior staff to receive coaching in on-camera presentations, I took that opportunity to create an 8-week public speaking workshop for all employees. – This course has graduated more than 200 students who now have an advanced competency in impromptu speaking, prepared presentations, and providing constructive feedback to other presenters.
I proactively created my first CBT course in situational leadership using PowerPoint and visual basic. – Feedback was overwhelmingly positive about ease of use, realistic scenarios for practice, and knowledge gained in a reasonable timeframe
I piloted an effective email-writing course using the organization’s email system. – Interest in the course became widespread throughout the organization.
Using Articulate and Captivate I created a computer-based safety & campus security course for more than 150 utility employees. – Using computer terminal kiosks, it streamlined the learning process through course access efficiency, course progress bookmarking, and time away from job duties.
I was instrumental in creating the City of St. Petersburg’s Water Resources department’s succession plan. – We positioned more than 30 employees for advancement through a formalized process of education counseling, job shadowing, and communications improvement.
