EXPERIENCE
2007-Present. Founder and Director of Hands of Hope Ministries
As the founder, director,, and Chairman of the Board of Hands of Hope Ministries, I am responsible for the overall management, leadership and development of Hands of Hope Ministries. I am also responsible for the financial health of the organization.
2005-Present. Supervisor of the Respite Center, Centerpoint Health, Cincinnati, Ohio
As the supervisor of the Respite Center since May of 2005, I have been responsible for leading a staff of 10 with a maximum occupancy of 14 residents. During my tenure at the Respite Center, I have led the transition of the program from a short-term crisis residential program to a 45 day step down program used by the local hospitals. As a result, we have reduced the frequency of AWOL’s and re-hospitalizations. Also while supervising the Respite Center, I oversaw the eradication of a severe bed bug infestation during which time the Respite Center also replaced all its furniture and beds. Since this eradication, the Respite Center has not had a recurrence of bed bugs. While employed with Centerpoint Health, I have served as the agency Client Rights Officer since September of 2006. Also while employed at Centerpoint Health I was participated in the Affiliation leadership class and served a 2-year term on the Affilaition Steering Team after completing the unfinished term of a former Centerpoint Health employee.
2002-2004. Senior Pastor, River of Life Assembly of God, Marietta, Ohio.
I served as the Senior Pastor of River of Life Assembly of God since May of 2002. I was responsible for the overall operation of the church, including: overseeing all church ministries, serving as the Chairman of the Board and President of the organization. I was responsible for the overall financial and organizational health of the church as well as planning for and implementing plans for the future of the church. I led a staff of 4 and a congregation of 46.
1997- 2002. Associate Pastor, New Hope Family Worship Center, Cincinnati, Ohio
New Hope Family Worship Center was started in April of 1997. While serving at the church, I led various ministries in the church, such as: youth, visitation, bus, building and property administration, and men. I have also been heavily involved in the children’s ministry and community outreaches. I have spoken on a frequent basis to various groups within and outside the church.
1997 - 2002. Teacher, Cincinnati Christian Schools.
While at CCS, I taught 6th, 7th, and 9th grade Bible and High School Psychology. For two of the five years at the school I led Klesis, which is a small group ministry that involves 325 students in grades 6-12 and coordinated a retreat, with two other teachers, that included small and large group ministry and games for the sixth grade students.
1993-1995. Psychological Assistant. Glencare Inc.
At Glencare, I was responsible to develop and lead the implementation of behavioral treatment plans for severely mentally handicapped adults. The implementation process primarily involved the training of the residential staff to work directly with the residents and lead them through the process. I was active in treatment team meetings in which psychologists, social workers, recreational therapists and staff participated.
1993-1995. Senior Mental Health Associate, Comprehensive Care Centers, Inc.
At Comprehensive Care Centers, I was responsible for the development and leading the execution of treatment plans for children ages 5-18 who had severe behavioral handicaps due to physical and/or sexual abuse. I performed individual therapy with 6 -10 clients as well as leading 4-6 different group therapies each week.
1991-1992. Graduate Assistant, Psychological Services Center - Xavier University.
This graduate assistantship was awarded to me due to high academic achievement during the previous academic year as well as recognized leadership potential. At the Psychological Services Center, I was responsible for the treatment of 1-3 college students who presented with various psychological issues as well as administering various psychological test batteries to college students and individuals who had applied for disability through the state of Ohio.
