Despite the tremendous importance of money and finance in all aspects of our lives, very few people benefit from any kind of formal guidance in how to deal with either.  For most of us, it is simply a case of learning our lessons by watching how those around us deal with financial matters and then muddling through accordingly.  Although help is available through formal training for anyone who wishes to improve their sense of financial awareness in the home or business setting, such courses are typically only able to provide generic information which students then have to interpret to fit their own sets of circumstances.  With the help of online coaching, however, anyone can receive personalized guidance which is tailor-made to address their own unique situations and needs and geared towards helping them meet their own specific financial aims or those of the companies that they work for.

Especially in today’s tough economic times, it is imperative that managers, executives, leaders and business owners possess high levels of financial astuteness if their companies are going to thrive rather than merely survive and if they are to avoid the unfortunate scenario where employees have to be laid off or they themselves risk losing their jobs or watching their businesses go under.  With greater financial awareness and a better understanding of how specific decisions will ultimately impact on the business, companies can better secure their financial futures and the jobs of those that they employ.

The business world, of course, isn’t the only place where a lack of financial awareness can potentially lead to disaster, or at the very least financial difficulties or the failure to make maximum use of the resources available.  In the home too, the ability to understand finance and to be able to budget is vital if families are going to be able to deal with their financial commitments and to prepare for future events such as their children’s educations and weddings or to realize their own personal ambitions such as setting up a small home business.  With so much uncertainty in the job market, making sure that they have sufficient put by to protect them should the specter of unemployment make its presence felt or just having enough put by to deal with the unexpected can mean that families can live contentedly and without endless stress and worry.

When you work alongside a coach in the online coaching environment, one of the enormous benefits that you receive is that the help and guidance is related specifically to your own unique situation.  Online coaching which is provided to private individuals, for example, takes into account their own incomings and outgoings and what they themselves hope to achieve at the end of the day.  Online coaching in relation to businesses, on the other hand, helps managers, executives, leaders and business owners to manage the resources for which they are responsible in such a way as to achieve the best possible results.  In some cases, financial awareness coaching is provided as a standalone, whereas in others it forms just one element of a wider executive, leadership or sales coaching program.

In the last few years, after 1990 especially, the coaching business rapidly expanded and more people are aware of the benefits of this new profession and interested in learning about it. Among the benefits of coaching, creating more effective communications, setting achievable goals, reaching solutions and empowering people are the most recognized.

Today, many organizations are offering coaching classes to people interested in becoming coaches or to people who want to grow, to learn about themselves and their inner potential.

The most recognized Institution in the coaching industry is ICF – International Coach Federation, a nonprofit organization formed by individual coaches, committed to setting high professional standards. ICF offers independent certification and allows coaches to interact with each other and exchange ideas through a professional network.

Under the ICF umbrella there are many other Institutions accredited by ICF, which offers good quality coaching classes for coaches: Coaching Training Institute (CTI), Erickson College, Institute of Excellence In Coaching (iPEC) to name just a few.

To be credible as a coach, a coaching diploma is mandatory. Until people will see you at work they want to see that you take coaching seriously so they can take you seriously too.

If you are interested in becoming a coach, you have to take into consideration the following steps:

1. Decide which area of coaching you want to work in, based on your natural abilities and knowledge

2. Research Institutions that offers classes that fit your needs

3. Attend an introductory coaching seminar that gives you the opportunity to see if that particular Institution and its classes are right for you. Observe the behavior of the coaches and their interactions with others to see if you will fit in that role.

4. Learn from other coaches’ experience how they succeed in their profession

5. Take coaching classes. It is the best to find courses that gives you at the end of the program a certification upon completion.

6. Believe in yourself!

“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein

I have been introduced to coaching 8 years ago due to a challenge in my personal life, my sister’s divorce.  I was in need for having back my balance, my focus on positive outlook of the world and I found coaching through a friend.

My life coach at that time, patiently listened to me and asked many questions that helped me discovered what I want and where I want to be as a person, motivated me to continue when the road I chose seemed to hard and cheered me for my all accomplishments. It was like I have my personal life trainer!

For this reason, I praise coaching and believe that it can transform each individual in something greater, bigger than they are, helping each individual to tap into their inner, greater potential.

Currently, the coaching field is growing and many types of coaching have developed since early 1900s, when Dale Carnegie started to train executives. Some of these fields are: life coaching, business coaching, health coaching, leadership coaching, executive coaching, career coaching, financial coaching, personal coaching, sports coaching, relationships coaching, coaching for businesses and sales coaching, to enumerate just few of them.

Lately, a new type of coaching started to emerge due to the increased use of internet technology in our daily life. Although, it might be difficult to understand for general public that coaching can be done other than face-to-face, as this builds a more effective relationship with the clients, as we became busier and stressed with our work and personal life and we want to save some time for our important matters, the demand for online coaching developed.

The online coaching offers you the advantage of having your coach with you no matter where you are, at home, your office or in a remote location, removing the time factor, travel expenses and geographical restrictions.

No matter what type of coaching you are choosing, having a coach will help you to create balance in your life, to discover your qualities and use your potential at a higher capacity, in another words, to transform your life in the life you want!
