How Is Life Coaching Different Than Therapy Or Counselling?


 I have been asked many times by many people about how is Life Coaching different than Therapy or Counselling?

Well, each of them has their specific roles and advantages and takes care of different aspects of Your well-being. They do not exclude each other, they just serve different purposes. But let’s take them one by one.

Life Coaching is the improvement process that allows You to develop and improve as person, as much as You want. Coaching is an alliance between Your Coach and You, with You in the driver’s seat. Coaching helps You to discover the answers within Yourself, for each question You have and focuses on solutions, on Your future goals and on the Life You want to create.

Your Life Coach will be there for You to assist You to design the life You want, to encourage You to take the risks, whenever necessary and to celebrate with You your victories! You know You need a coach when:

-        You want to achieve balance in Your work, personal and family life

-        You want to start/improve your business

-        You want to tap into Your highest potential

-        You have goals and You want to achieve them while having fun and enjoying Your Life

-        You want to discover Your Life purpose

-        You want to improve Your relationships with the people in Your Life

-        You want to become a Leader in your career field

-        You want to change careers

Counselling is the expert advice provided by an expert in a specific field. It focuses on a current matter, by giving You a specific advice. Either You have a challenge in a relationship, You experienced a personal loss or You have an addiction, a counsellor can help you to cope with these and provide You solutions based on their training and experience.

Therapy is the process of increasing the mental health of a patient, working with issues like depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma, relationships conflicts or career frustration. It helps providing perspective to the events from the past, ways to express feelings and understand patterns of thinking through a series of specific, psychological techniques provided by a specialized professional.

Each of the 3 methods from above offers You support to improve Your Life based on Your current Life conditions.
