2000-Present: Principal, Zampella Group, Inc

Worked with executives and managers to expand capacity to develop the mindset of a “servant leader.”
Designed/delivered leadership programs at Con Edison, NASA, and Novartis Pharmaceuticals. 
Designed leadership program and developed learning community at Queens Health Network of the NYC Health & Hospitals Corporation.

1994-1997: Freelance Communication (San Diego, CA)

Developed communication strategies within the political arena.
Wrote column, “Political Spin,” about culture, leadership, and diversity: Update Newspaper.

1993-1997: Commissioner, City of San Diego Human Relations Commission (San Diego, CA)

Advised Mayor and elected officials on policies and guidelines related to immigration Issues, mediating hate-acts and discrimination in schools, and investigating the increase of hate crimes in San Diego.
Researched types of discrimination directed at different racial and ethnic populations.
Developed educational initiatives to address issues of prejudice and hate crimes. 

1985-1993: Publisher, Bravo! Newsmagazine and San Diego Scene (San Diego, CA)

Founded weekly newsmagazine (circ. 10,000), serving LGBT population in So. CA.
Supervised art, editorial, advertising, circulation, and administrative departments; developed marketing and promotional strategies; set publication tone and wrote weekly editorials.

 Academic Experience

2005: Guest lecturer: Fordham University. MBA program. Worked with colleague to introduce my research on how trust as a function of pragmatic language enhances performance.

1998-2001: Coordinator/Adjunct Professor, Masters of Science in Leadership (MSOL) Program, Mercy College, Division of Business and Accounting, New York, NY

2001-2005: Assistant Professor/Director of Leadership Programs, Mercy College, NY

Reconceptualize leadership methods and approaches.
Redesigned Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) program as a fully integrated leadership program.
Developed strategies to implement and integrate new curriculum standards for the MSOL program throughout the Mercy College system (five campuses).
Advised and mentored students in developing the MSOL Master’s Thesis.
Recruited and developed a faculty to embody the MSOL program’s values and leadership competencies.
Developed faculty team to design and assess MSOL leadership curriculum.
Lead faculty team in the yearlong MSOL graduate program at Con Edison’s corporate headquarters.
